How Can You Make Off-Page SEO Work?

By Noman Ali

If you want to make off-page SEO work, the first thing you really need to do is to stop listening to the so-called gurus in SEO and start using your common sense and recognizing one basic fact: Google is a search engine that has its DNA set on ranking websites based on links. If that weren't the case, it would have to rewrite its own DNA entirely.

That said, if you're trying to rank a new website or else are trying to recover from a dip in you rankings post Panda, Penguin and Hummingbird, you would do well to start building back links again to your website. But of course, we're not talking about just any type of back link here.

But of course, the days of anything goes in link building is long gone. These days, it's not just the number of links that matter, but the quality does. But what do we mean by a quality link? We do mean links coming from High PR websites that have content that is related to your money website.

Other good sources of backlinks are links coming from newspapers, universities, and directories like DMOZ and Yahoo. Building quality backlinks to your website is a tough job and it's rather impossible for a high PR site like About.com to link to you if you're not one of their authors.

Anyway, you can build your network as follows: buy several websites that have a PR of at least three, transfer them to your own hosting account under different IP addresses, publish content on these websites and build links to them.

Put a link on the home page of these High PR websites to your money pages. As we said before, building this type of network costs money, so we suggest that you find a job first before doing any work.
