Phone Systems And The Many Variants

By Leanne Goff

There are several phone types as well as phone systems Chicago types. There may be some that are curious as to what these things are on a much deeper level. To those interested, there are at least three main types that may be discussed further. One is the internet protocol variant, another is the plain old telephone service and then there would be cellular phone systems.

One of the system is actually quite old in the sense that it is a direct descendant to what Alexander Graham Bell had originally developed back in the day. This would be the landline system. It is still being used in both offices and residences, and its use continues to be very widespread. This is an analog service with copper wiring.

There are a lot of advantages when it comes to this specific variant. Such advantages include, but is not limited to the utilization of standardized equipment and sound quality that is considered to be predictable. Because of the central office connection that it possesses, there is virtually no need for the sharing of its capacity to others.

The switches are also set in place already. This will create a private circuit for just about every call that takes place. Many call it the public switched telephone network because of that, sometimes just PSTN. This has been made available for several years and has withstood every other new variant that arrived since then. The use has not been affected in any significantly negative way whatsoever.

The second type is utilized heavily by cellular phones. Companies can occasionally have networks that are exclusive to them. Simultaneously, what they have will vary in terms of the type and how far off their technology is. It is comparable to POTS, since it is a full duplex system. That means those on both lines may talk and listen simultaneously.

Despite its similarity, there also exists a notable difference. Such a difference comes in the form of radio frequencies, which is utilized in this variation rather than copper wire. These things started out exclusively as a mobile voice network, they are basically incapable of carrying voice and data at the same time.

Some of these networks are national. However, there are a few international ones and the best part is that brand new technologies are continuously being developed. 3G supports not just cell phones, but also smartphones, netbook computers and even wireless modem aircards.

Internet protocol, or IP, is also referred to as voice over internet protocol, or VoIP. This yet another version that is used in modern times. This particular service usually piggy backs on the existing internet connections, either DSL broadband or perhaps cable service. A device that is known as the analog telephone adapter is usually the go between that will connect phones to the router or the modem.

This system can be set up using a single line for internet and telephone services both. This is a way for people to save up on money. Using integrated T1 lines, instead of setting up for voice or data, it would be a way to handle both. These are a few that that can be expected from varying phone systems Chicago.
