I can say a number of things about Nintendo but it would appear as though it is becoming more and more in line with what we consider to be the norm. Nintendo has, for so long, been seen as the standoffish company that did what it wanted to do without having to conform to what we believe to be the norm. This has been constant, both for better and for worse. The Miiverse has become my point of focus recently and it's one that, in my opinion, deserves better Internet marketing.
An update has come about on Miiverse and it is one that users will be able to benefit from in one way or another. Generally, what this update has done is that it has changed around Miiverse's structure so that it would be more in line with that of Twitter. This means that there is no longer a requirement to select a particular subforum and post messages within it as a result. This idea is one to keep in mind and I would like to think that it is a much more streamlined platform as a result.
Nintendo has always been, in my mind at least, unafraid to make strides within its particular industry. Whether you're talking about the simplest of directional pads or the usage of motion controls to various degrees, what was the company who initially brought them to the forefront? Nintendo's understanding of Twitter is very apparent as well as why shouldn't it be? It's a commonly utilized platform by people and the fact that it is a simple path of communication only makes it that much more of an effective option.
Companies such as fishbat are able to see just how popular Twitter is as well as its constant usage by a number of people. The messages posted should be short yet effective so that they are able to grasp attention right away. Miiverse being able to adopt a similar structure is something that I can only describe as brilliant but I cannot help but feel as though Internet marketing efforts have to be stronger. I can only hope that these are seen in due time.
Do I think that Miiverse has potential? While I do not believe that it's going to ever place the current social media channels we see today, it is a very interesting, self-contained platform. Only those who own Nintendo consoles are able to make the most of it and I feel as though there is a very friendly community, albeit one that is very young. While one may not be able to find the most developed of posts, I cannot help but feel as though this platform deserves merit.
