The Shape Of A Riso Inkjet Printer

By Lisa Lewis

Riso inkjet printer is a machine that creates digital images by propelling tiny droplets of ink onto paper. These devices come in various sizes ranging from small and cheap consumer models to large expensive professional machines. The knowledge of inkjet printing was in use as early as the 19th century. There are various worldwide firms that manufacture these devices. These devices can be connected wirelessly to computers for reproduction of digital images.

Two main technologies in use in modern makes are drop on demand abbreviated as DOD and continuous inkjet shortened as CIJ. CIJ method is commonly used in commercial coding and marking of packages and products. This technology involves high pressure pumps that direct liquid ink from reservoirs via gunbodies and microscopic nozzles. This creates a continuous flow of droplets through the plateau-Rayleigh instability.

A piezo-electric crystal produces vibrations as it moves in the gunbody and breaks the flow of ink at regular intervals. A range of between 64000 to 165000 drops per second might be attained. The drop of ink usually get subjected to electrostatic fields created through charging of electrodes as soon as they are formed. The field varies depending on the extent of desired deflection. One or many guard droplets are used to separate charged ink droplets from one another by lowering electrostatic repulsion.

DOD is split into piezo-electric and thermal. Thermal inkjet printers contain print cartridges with numerous tiny chambers. Every tiny chamber contains a photolithograph heater. In order to emit ink droplets from chambers, pulse electrical current is passed through heating elements. Ink undergoes quick vaporization inside the chambers to create bubbles which in return create more pressure forcing ink drop-lets onto the paper.

Water based inks containing dyes, glycol, or pigments are the most use. It is cheap to produce such types of inks. The major disadvantage with water based inks is that it is hard to control them once on the surface of the photopaper. Aqueous ink provides most vivid color and broader color gamut although they are not waterproof and require application of special coating or lamination after printing. They are also most likely to fade fast if exposed to direct sunlight.

Compared to other methods like thermal wax, laser printing and dye sublimation printers practically have no warm up time. They print smooth and finer details through the high printhead resolution. Other makes have high speed printing feature that enable them to produce documents faster. There are monochrome and full color makes. Special software is required for different color mapping should the device be connected to a computer.

These devices are not error free. They may break down due to mechanical malfunctions. They have microchips which indicate the estimated ink level. They can sometimes mislead users into thinking that the cartridge is empty when they are not. Clogged inkjet nozzles are another common drawback of printers. Water based highlighter marker may blur and discolor documents.

When is need of Riso inkjet printer there are several online retailers that sell it at affordable prices. All makes of printers are available in such stores. More information about them is accessible on their blogs over the internet.
